I’m typically someone who encourages people to explore their neighborhood, the world around them, and share that world with others. It doesn’t matter if you live in Small Town, USA or in London, England UK; I think it’s important that you really get to know the place it is you call home. The good, the bad, the beautiful, and the unsightly.
Whenever people learn that I live in England, most automatically picture me living amidst rolling fields of green, surrounded by castles aplenty. Now there is some truth to that as we happen to live in the beautiful, luscious county of Derbyshire (pronounced: Darby-sure), however not all that glitters is gold. What do you mean by that? I’m about to explain… using photography.
I am someone who tries to find beauty in all things; I guess I’ve always thought it was an important part of life, learning to see the good when there’s always a good dose of bad lurking around the corner. You have to find balance in life and for me, it’s most easily found through photography. I think a single picture can really balance the scales of life and I also believe that is one (of many) of the reasons why I love photography so much.
They always say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, well, these are just a handful of things around our fair town of Clowne which I find to be rather beautiful…and um, interesting, too.
So go on then, tell me what’s so awesome about your neighborhood? What’s something you find interesting or unique about where you live? What’s something that may be so ugly that it’s almost beautiful? At a loss to answer any of those questions? Maybe you need to get out more…
