A normal day in the neighbourhood.

Today began like this:

And it ended like this:

According to the original forecast, today should have stayed more like the first picture but Mother Nature had other plans. Thank goodness. Despite the bountiful sunshine, the breeze was on the cooler side and autumn was definitely in the air.

Once the cooler weather moves in, I try to prepare Ramone as best as possible; he is not exactly a big fan of fall and winter. Earlier in the week I ordered a very manly sweater for him and it arrived today. Just in time to keep him nice and warm on these chilly days.

He was thrilled. Well, not really. About two hours later I walked into the living room and there he sat, looking as smug as a dog could, with his sweater laying dismissed beside him. Little turkey.

In other news, today’s exciting adventure took place at Tesco (our local grocery store) as I needed to purchase a couple ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies. I know, I know, can you even stand the excitement?! All of this baking, I blame the weather. Or fall. Or whatever. Anyway, I made cookies.

The hubby says they are rather tasty so I’ll declare these a success. And again, you may not call me Suzie Homemaker.

After the cookie celebration, we (read: Si) hung some more photos up on the walls. As time goes on, we are working on placing artwork as well as personal photographs up around the house to make it feel more like a home. Homey, if you will.

We put this photo collage up today; our ‘love collage’ if you will. The small photo at the top middle will soon be replaced with a large print from our wedding day. Woot! The two photos that act as bookends are of our parents on their wedding days; my folks on the left and his on the right. Altogether now: Awwwwwww.

Later my boys and I went for a walk around our neighborhood to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and burn off some (maybe five) of the cookie calories.

The last couple of photos are of the street we live on. Despite the cars parked along both sides, this is what they consider to be a two-lane road and before you ask, this is a normal thing all over the country and yes, I’m still getting used to it. But never mind the road, how about that sweet, gorgeous sunshine?

Was it the most exciting Saturday on record? No. Was it relaxing and fun? Ya, you betcha. 😉 I never ask for life to be exciting every moment of every day, I only ask that it be rewarding in some way, big or small. Today all of the small things added up to something big and that’s a tick in the ‘life is good’ column if you ask me.
